AUTOMOTIVE TRAINING VICTORIA

The Victorian Automotive Industry Training Board Incorporated, trading as Automotive Training Victoria is a non-profit organisation representative of the automotive and allied industries including recreational boating, outdoor power equipment and retail bicycle. 

ATV is the peak advisory body on all matters of training with statutory recognition under the Vocational Education & Training Act to prepare quality industry reports identifying the type of vocational training, training demand and employment trends throughout Melbourne Metropolitan and Regional Victoria. 

ATV comprises of senior representation from key automotive manufacturing, retail sectors and peak bodies including:

  • Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce (VACC)

  • Australian Manufacturing Workers’ Union (AMWU)

  • Passenger Motor Vehicle Manufacturing (PMV) – Ford, Holden, Toyota

  • Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM)

  • Truck Assembly

  • Earth Moving & Construction Equipment

  • Tractor & Farm Machinery

  • Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association (AAAA)

  • Institute of Automotive Mechanical Engineers (IAME)

  • Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE)

  • Technical & Further Education (TAFE) Institutes

The ATV Board has two key functions:

  1. To provide quality training advice and consultation to government, industry and training organisations with a focus on:

  • New and emerging technology

  • Economic indicators

  • Enterprise training plans

  • The development of training packages and implementation of the national training framework

  1. To promote the automotive industry and to increase the training investment by industry.
